OUR FRIEND: MARK HAYES
​SoJo Choral Arts recently partnered with Salt Lake Choral Artists for a one-day workshop led by the acclaimed Mark Hayes. This inspiring session allowed Mark to refine several of his pieces that our choirs will perform in the upcoming holiday concerts. Our friendship with Mark has grown over the years, beginning with a memorable residency in 2018 and continuing with our 2024 performances of his works at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
A particularly treasured moment was Mark’s attendance at our 2023 Christmas Concert, where he joined us to celebrate the retirement of our beloved conductor, Marlene Stanley. After this year’s workshop, Mark visited Marlene at Legacy Assisted Living Center, surprising her with a private piano concert that brought her great joy. We are grateful for Mark’s lasting friendship and the joy he continues to share with our community.

A heartfelt thank you to Kneaders for supporting SoJo Choral Arts and to everyone who joined us! Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $500 to help cover our choir’s operating costs. The food was delicious, and the company was wonderful—what a fantastic event!
