Distinguished Concerts International New York City (DCINY) announced that Marlene Stanley and SoJo Choral Arts have been invited to perform The Music of Mark Hayes as part of the DCINY Concert Series at Carnegie Hall on November 26, 2018. The concert will feature a world premiere, conducted by composer Mark Hayes, who will also serve as the clinician for the residency. The invitation was extended due to the exceptional quality of SoJo Choral Arts' audition recording and their demonstrated musicianship. Dr. Jonathan Griffith, Artistic Director for DCINY, noted that this opportunity allows the ensemble to act as ambassadors for the community, showcasing high standards of music and education. During their five-day residency in New York, the singers will prepare for the performance with approximately 9-10 hours of rehearsals, while also having time to explore the city’s rich cultural offerings.
