About Seasons Orchestra

Seasons Orchestra has been going strong since 2008 under the leadership of Director Barbara Rex, a talented local music director and musician, alongside Concertmaster, violinist, and composer Kelly Richardson. Seasons Chorale has been a cherished presence in our community for over 20 years, known for their annual Sounds of the Season Holiday Concert, which supports family shelters and Make-a-Wish. Together,  as Seasons Chorale & Orchestra, they bring the joy of music to life for a meaningful cause.

DIRECTOR

Barbara Rex has performed on the oboe in many local music groups, and in New York, Michigan, and Asia.  She has a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, a minor in music, and did graduate studies in statistics.  When she is not performing or conducting, she can be found hiking in the Wasatch mountains, biking along the Jordan River trail, volunteering as an advocate for children in Juvenile Court, volunteering as a support specialist for BYU-Pathway students, and enjoying her 5 children and 17 grandchildren.

CONCERTMASTER

Kelly Richardson’s music has been performed at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and Central Park in New York, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, and Great Shostakovich Hall in St. Petersburg. His works have reached audiences in Germany with the Elbland Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C., and at the OK Mozart International Festival. He has conducted for 20th Century Fox, Universal Studios, and MGM, and led orchestras at the University of Utah, Utah State, and USC, as well as the Utah Philharmonic and West Valley Symphony. As assistant conductor and composer in residence for the American West Symphony, he also conducts the Congregation Kol Ami Choir. Kelly and his wife Barbara have three daughters and six grandchildren.
