The Mission of SoJo Choral Arts
The mission of SoJo Choral Arts is to build and sustain a community of local artists, providing music performance and development opportunities while supporting charitable causes.
To accomplish our mission, our organization partners with charitable organizations to donate goods and money, and runs three unique choral groups and one orchestra. |
About our Choirs
The Seasons Chorale began because one South Jordan resident moved to the area and couldn't find a local choir to join. Marlene Stanley decided then that she would start her own. Partnering with South Jordan City, she secured a practice location and a performance venue and programmed the Sounds of the Season Christmas concert.
Since then, Seasons Chorale has blossomed into a 100+ member choir that currently focuses on the Sounds of the Season Christmas concert and charity. Our music is a mix of joyful, fun, and sacred, and has delighted audiences for over 15 years. Each year as the choir prepares for their December concert held at Bingham High School, members raise donations for various causes including Food banks and shoe donations. A portion of donations collected at the concert are given to Make-A-Wish foundation and local women's shelters. |
In 2002, a group of ten women desiring to serve the senior members of their community began a small singing group. A year later, Marlene Stanley took the lead as the group's director, and The Deci'Belles were born! Each year, the choir auditions additional talent, and the group now boasts 40 talented singers and musicians in its ranks.
The Deci'Belles perform all over the Wasatch Front, from the Layton area to north Utah County. The group finds great joy in primarily performing for assisted livlng, senior citizen, and retirement centers. Additionally, the group performs for community meetings, special events, and church groups. The Deci'Belles sing in 2-4 part harmony and include the use of props, costumes, instruments, percussion, and choreography to deliver an entertaining and worthwhile program designed to uplift and delight. The Deci'Belles perform two programs annually, including a secular themed program as well as a seasonal Christmas program. The Deci'Belles are currently led by director Patty Anderson, with Jamee Talbot and Debbie Robbins as accompanists. |
